Champagne Philippe Fourrier

Degustez notre histoire pour la vivre | Try our story to live it

La Maison Philippe Fourrier, the Champagne House, was founded in 1847.

In the heart of the Southern Champagne region of Cote des Bar, birthplace of the great appellation Pinot Noir grape variety, Philippe Fourrier is a proud 5th generation winery owner, where his wife, son and daughters are still involved from their own Baroville vineyards to the delicate wine shops and boutiques of the World.

Julien, Philippe’s son, has been carefully trained for 2 decades now to master the entire development process in the production of Philippe Fourrier champagnes.

While Stephanie, eldest daughter, took their champagnes to parts of Europe, the US and Canada from 2012, Mathilde, Philippe’s youngest daughter has shown deeper commitment in recently settling in Australia as brand Ambassador so as to nurture their champagnes in the highly competitive backyard of French Champagnes & Australian Sparklings.

All of Philippe Fourrier’s champagnes have received quality accolades, recognised by leading wine connoisseurs and Awards such as Guide des Vins Gilbert & Gaillard, Effervescents du Monde, Concours Mondial Bruxelles and Decanter World Wine awards.

Unlike most of the other 300 Champagne Houses in the region, Philippe Fourrier primarily uses Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes where minimal Pinot Meunier varietals are crushed.

The Champagne portfolio consists of 100% Pinot Noir, 100% Chardonnay, non-vintage and vintage releases, a Rose de Saignee as well as the exceptional Barrel-aged 100% Chardonnay.

Champagne Philippe Fourrier Family

  • Carte D’Or’ is a special Brut, first being a white wine made from black grapes (Blanc de Noirs), but essentially because it’s a rare 100% Cote des Bar Pinot Noir, no blend. Aged at least 3 years in stainless steel tanks, Carte D’Or is a champagne for all occasions. Generously foamed with shimmering bright bubbles, the nose is intense of complex notes of red fruits, with hints of toasted almonds. On the palate, it’s delicate and fresh. Powerful and structured as cocktail champagne, Carte D’Or also accompanies any meal.

  • Rose’ Brut is an intense 90% Pinot Noir, 10% Chardonnay, aged for a minimum of 3 years in stainless steel tanks. On the eye, the 12% blend is a deeper pink dress, nuanced brilliantly by the whiteness of its foam. Nose expresses intense aromas of red fruits bouquet. Palate is generous of ripe red fruits, duplicates the nose with delicate tannin & sweet spices aromas. Its Chardonnay contributes to subtle freshness and charming length. Perfect summer aperetif, alternatively accompanies chocolate and red fruits dessert.

  • Most awarded and best-selling ‘Prestige’ is a Blanc de Blancs Brut (white wine from white grapes) made with 100% Chardonnay. This fine and effervescent champagne is matured in stainless steel tanks for at least 4 years. The light golden bubbles show finesse, its nose discreet with notes of citrus and white fruits. Beautifully soft, then flexible, Prestige is creamy smooth. Its good length, slightly honeyed finish very elegantly. Enjoyed as an aperetif or with rich desserts.

  • Vintage ‘Millesime’ represents a Brut from the grower’s exceptional years. Blended equally from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, this 12% champagne is aged at least 6 years in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks. Prestigious, the champagne graces sumptuous foam, with golden honey hues colour. Its fresh nose flourishes with notes of ripe yellow fruits. Palate creates harmony between slightly toasted aromas and hints of apricot and honey. Finish is extraordinarily pure. Celebrates great moments in life.
