86 is a specialty range within the Bavaria family of beers.
Just like Bavaria Premium, 86 uses water from the Brewery’s own natural springs, rained on the Ardennes to the underground rivers that run deep beneath the Bavaria brewery in Lieshout. The water purity contributes to 86’s crisp, unique taste.
86 special aroma is complex due to the fact that its brewers go all the way to Germany and the US to witness the hops’ harvesting together with the farmers. Specific heaps of hops are picked to guarantee a sensational beer. The ‘heap hop’ ritual ensures a beer with bite although not overly bitter.
Being one of the few breweries in the World to produce their own malt, Bavaria guarantees constant quality within 86. The barley is hand-selected from Holland, France and Scandinavia. Five varieties of barley are selected in close collaboration with barley farmers. The brewers know how the barley is sown, how it’s harvested, which climate and soil it comes from, which then allows the monitoring of barley quality into 86. That’s why 86 is Malt to the Max.
The mix of malt, natural water, top hops and home-made yeast result in a real beer with strong personality. Notes of dried fruits and liquorice make 86 Original an unrivaled beer, a special beer.
